Chris Haws is the Clinical Director of Crescent Counseling and Casework Services.  Crescent provides a continuum of care including intensive in-home services, mental health skill-building, and outpatient services.  He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has worked as a mental health professional for over 25 years.  He is encouraged by the Positive Psychology Movement and trauma-informed best practices.  He has worked in a variety of mental health settings including outpatient, intensive in-home, residential treatment centers, and juvenile detention providing therapy to individuals, families, couples, and groups.  He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults.  Chris is also a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) and has worked with adolescents who have experienced sexual trauma and are sexually reactive.  He is a firm believer in the scientific method, best practices, and evidenced-based interventions.  His goal is to provide the most effective interventions to create the best possible outcomes for the most deserving families in the area and allow each individual to meet their full potential.  He currently lives in Virginia Beach and enjoys being in and on the water.
